How to view FPS in World of Warcraft

Since World of Warcraft is an MMORPG that focuses on elements of real-time PVE and PVP combat, the framerate tends to fluctuate a lot. As such, it is best to monitor the frame rate using an FPS counter if the FPS drops drastically. Many new WoW players are unaware that the game has a feature to present FPS natively. If you’re one of those players, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Changing keyboard shortcuts for the FPS counter

Ctrl + R is the default keyboard shortcut to display the FPS counter. If the default combination keys do not suit you, you can always assign a new one. To change the default keyboard shortcuts: Open the Miscellaneous option in the Key bindings section and find the Switch Frame Rate display. Choose any new key or combo you want to use to toggle the FPS overlay. Check the new key combinations after returning to the main game. If you’ve followed all of the instructions, you should be able to view and edit the framerate overlay keyboard shortcuts in World of Warcraft. As mentioned earlier, use the counter to closely monitor your FPS numbers. In the event of a drop in FPS, we recommend that you adjust your graphics configuration to lower settings.
