How to change your username in Minecraft

Minecraft is packed with hundreds of ways to show who you are. However, one of the most important ways to express yourself inside the game is your username. The name that appears in the chat and the one that floats above your head is a key part of the in-game identity that you create for yourself. This guide will explain how to change your username in Minecraft Java Edition. You can change your username in Minecraft for free by going to www.minecraft.net. Once you are all logged in, you can go to the “Profile” section of your account, where you will find an edit button next to your profile name. Keep in mind that you can only change your username once every 30 days, so choose wisely. To avoid being stuck for a month with a name you don’t want. Another important note is that Minecraft will put your old username on hold for 37 days. That way, after the 30 days have passed, you still have a week to change your username to the previous one before Mojang communicates that username to other players.
