Back 4 Blood cross play helps you find players and play with friends no matter what platform they are on. It even allows for intergenerational play, which makes sense given that B4B is a much better multiplayer experience than it does in single player. With that in mind, you might be wondering how to enable cross play to have the best chance of finding other cleaners to play with. Cross play is automatically activated when you start Back 4 Blood. You don’t have to do anything to play with other players on other platforms, whether you are on PC, PlayStation or Xbox. The game will ask you if you want to keep it enabled when you start an online campaign for the first time. When you enter a multiplayer lobby and search for other players with cross play enabled, be it Quickplay, Campaign, or Swarm public matchmaking, the game searches for players from a matchmaking pool across all platforms. Who he associates you with is mostly random here; there is no way to specify which platforms it shoots from. If you want to turn off cross play, go to the Hub menu (where you can check your decks, supply lines, etc.) and scroll down to Preferences. Scroll down to the third option and turn it off. This will limit the pool that Back 4 Blood searches in and you will only play with other cleaners on your respective platform. To re-enable it, just toggle the option to On. Again, cross play also includes play between generations. If you want to play multiplayer with friends and share your in-game username with them through Add Friends, you need to enable cross play to do so. You won’t be able to find them any other way. This goes for PS4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Series X | S. Related Articles: Enabling Cross Play in Back 4 Blood is a cinch, especially since it’s enabled from the get-go.
