Yakuza games are no stranger to collectibles and Easter egg finds. From baseball cards to phone cards, the games will have you picking up just about anything on the streets of Japan! This time around though, these are the statues we’re looking for, so here are all of the Kappa locations in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
- South Sakura River Street – Shopping District (near the river)
- Sunrise Street – Near Ichiban’s Residence (in an open window)
- Bar district – Survive Bar (upstairs)
- West Jinnai Station – Behind a wall (in a glass elevator)
- West Carriage Highway – Behind the batting center
- Romance Street -Red Light District (behind a wire fence)
- Chinatown – Near Yi Xing Tang
- Hamakita Park – In the Harvest of Heroes
- Restaurant Row – Ijin Street, on a rooftop (chapter 6)
- Fukutokucho – Koreatown (halfway through chapter 7)
South Sakura River Street – Shopping District (near the river)
Image via PC Invasion This particular statue may be the one you remember encountering earlier in the game before you could take any photos. Head to the parking lot first where you can complete the Can Collecting Quest. If you look next, you will see a statue with a young boy walking around it. This is one of the Kappa statues that you can add to your photo collection. Make sure to talk to Hiro during Chapter 5’s Part-Time Hero Quest, as he won’t recognize him otherwise.
Sunrise Street – Near Ichiban’s Residence (in an open window)
Image via PC Invasion You will probably know full well where Ichiban lives at this point. Exit Ichiban’s house and go left, start walking down the street until you come across a building with a green awning facing up. Look out the window and you will see the Kappa right there. Get a photo for the gram and you are good to go!
Bar district – Survive Bar (upstairs)
Image via PC Invasion This Kappa statue is a bit hard to find, so we don’t blame you if you missed it the first time around! If you haven’t been to Survive Bar yet, you’ll need to unlock it before you can grab the Kappa, however, it’s unlocked before a quest so you can get in sooner than the questline dictates. At a glance, it may seem that the bar only has one level, but it actually has two! Go upstairs and find a unique room containing a half-open cabinet. Take a peek inside and you’ll find little Kappa taking a nap right in front of you. Pull out your phone and take a photo to connect! Related: How To Unlock Part Time Hero In Yakuza: Like A Dragon
West Jinnai Station – Behind a wall (in a glass elevator)
Image via PC Invasion Admittedly, this Kappa can be a bit of a hassle to access! You will have to go to Jinnai Station to find it, but it is quite easy to get disoriented and lost. The easiest way to find it is to look for barriers that will prevent you from approaching the road. If the barriers have a box-shaped section nearby, you will be able to see the Kappa relaxing in the glass elevator. If you can’t see the square near the gates, you’ve probably gone east instead of west so to speak! Take your photo of the glass protected Kappa, and it will be another for the collection!
West Carriage Highway – Behind the batting center
Image via PC Invasion Japan is arguably just as baseball mad as America, and this is more than demonstrated in the Yakuza games with their minigames! If you go up to the northwest part of the map (top left) you will find the Batting Center. Go around the back and you should see a Gold Safe, and on the back, to the right of it, you’ll find a Sneaky Kappa!
Romance Street -Red Light District (behind a wire fence)
Image via PC Invasion Head down east of the map into the red light district. Before arriving at the invisible wall / inaccessible area, you can turn right into a small alley. Follow it and you will find a small area which has a fenced section to the left. You won’t be able to access it but if you look closely you will see a good old Kappa sitting on one of the steps. Get the picture of achievement and memory, and you can move on to the next one! Related: How To Travel Fast In Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Chinatown – Near Yi Xing Tang
Image via PC Invasion Head towards Chinatown and venture through it until you come to a crossroads. It is indeed just before arriving at the crossroads that you will find a Kappa who comes to chill in an alcove next to some inaccessible shops! Look for the store called Yi Xing Tang on your map, and the Kappa will be in a small hidden spot to the right of it if you face it.
Hamakita Park – In the Harvest of Heroes
Image via PC Invasion Make your way to Hamakita Park and look for the food trucks near the Dragon Kart amusement center. Go to the truck called Hero’s Harvest that sells materials for your weapon and armor upgrades, and you’ll find a Kappa lying around next to the shop owner.
Restaurant Row – Ijin Street, on a rooftop (chapter 6)
Image via PC Invasion This Kappa becomes available a bit later in the game after doing the main story of Chapter 6. During the quest where you are asked to go and arrest Captain Takabe, you will come across a dead end. Look to your right and you will find a small alcove that leads. Go up there and turn left, then look up and you will see a flat roof that you cannot access. There you will find a Kappa for your film!
Fukutokucho – Koreatown (halfway through chapter 7)
Image via PC Invasion Prior to Chapter 7, there is a section of the game that you are not allowed to go to that will be actively made inaccessible. When trying to enter it, the game will have other plans, until a later date in Chapter 7. After meeting Chief Geomijul, you can finally visit this place. After your interaction with him, return to the same spot but this time turn left instead of right to head inside, and you’ll see a statue of Kappa waiting for his photo to be taken. And with that you will have found all the statues! Now you can tick off the part-time hero quest and get a cool two million for your troubles! Interested in more content?
